Djembe Communications & Forbes Insights to unveil new study on entrepreneurship & job creation in Africa

Angola, Ghana, Mozambique and Nigeria: Djembe Communications, the young, pan-African communications consultancy, today announced that it will unveil a report on “Entrepreneurship in Africa”, in association with Forbes Insights. The research findings garnered from over 4,000 African nationals aged 16 to 40 in Angola, Ghana, Mozambique and Nigeria respectively, will be presented during a series of roundtables to be held in each market. The inaugural study, to be unveiled on September 22nd, also marks the launch of Djembe’s new research arm, Djembe Insights.

Djembe Insights has been established to support the young company’s quest to provide high-level strategic consultancy with rigorous market insights for clients across the continent and beyond.

“We are proud to announce the launch of our research arm, Djembe Insights, a new capability that will release high quality research reports annually on key issues and trends impacting Africa. As a best-in-class communications consultancy, we believe that a dedicated research platform will enable us to provide insights-driven solutions that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders across sub-Saharan Africa”, said, Mitchell Prather, Managing Director, Djembe Communications.

The report “Job Creation in Sub-Saharan Africa: Entrepreneurs. Governments. Innovation” will ascertain how youth and young adults in key sub-Saharan African countries view the state of entrepreneurship in the region; its role in sustainable and urgent job creation; where they feel the opportunities lie; and how they can be supported in creating entrepreneurship-led jobs that today’s innovation economies demand.

“Forbes is pleased to partner with Djembe Communications on research that illustrates how and why entrepreneurs are the key drivers of economic growth and social change in Africa,” says Bruce Rogers, Chief Insights Officer, Forbes Media and head of the Forbes Insights Practice.

“One of the most pressing issues in Africa right now is job creation for its expanding youth population. Fueling entrepreneurship skills amongst African youth and catapulting SMEs across key sectors is crucial for sustainable job creation. Our research, in association with Forbes Insights, aims to provide African stakeholders, including governments and business leaders, with valuable insights into the crucial role that entrepreneurs play in advancing the region’s economy,” added Prather.

The reports will be unveiled in a series of roundtables as follows:
