Djembe Communications and Swiss-African Business Circle (SABC) Host Successful Business Breakfast in Zürich
Zürich | Switzerland: Wednesday, December 6, 2017: Recently Djembe Communications, the pioneering pan-African communications consultancy successfully co-hosted a business breakfast with Swiss-African Business Circle (SABC) themed “Leveraging African Know-How in Switzerland”. The session emphasized how knowledge transfer, skills mobilization, values and experiences of both African managers and entrepreneurs based in Switzerland can benefit the operations of Swiss companies in Switzerland and in African countries. Sharing best practices on leveraging African know-how, the event speakers included 2 African experts from the energy and ICT sectors. Yvonne Bettkober, Director Enterprise Specialist Sales at Microsoft Switzerland spoke about her experience as an African Executive in a multinational organization. Charles Thiemele, Head of Africa Trading Desk at AOT Energy provided insight about how to apply regional expertise towards growing the African business. Together, these speakers highlighted the role of the African diaspora across Swiss corporate environments.

The business breakfast saw a gathering of 30 influential Swiss, African and international CEOs, business leaders, bankers and entrepreneurs. The session largely revolved around the role of the African diaspora in capacity building and skills development through innovation. It was acknowledged that diverse perspectives within the Swiss corporate environment can create efficiencies, thus boosting economic development with African country counterparts.
